How To Get Started

Our team is composed of certified experts in deploying the following setup:

A. Cloud only deployment via Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure. In this scenario, our team of cloud Architects and Trainers (Vendor certified for both AWS and Azure) will take full advantage of the cloud using its broad array of services and components to deliver an optimal solution.

B. Hybrid – This scenario implies a mix of Cloud and On-premise resources and is relevant in the cases where the client is bound to specific datacenters (local, private, etc.), but at the same wants to take advantage of the services provided by cloud computing. The ability to cross the boundary from On-Prem to Cloud in an efficient and non-disruptive manner is one of the great differentiators of ITPrepared.

As a general overview, our model is based on three core phases:

1. Assess and Plan Migration
2. Migrate

a. Cloud Infrastructure setup
b. Development/lift and shift
c. Testing
d. Go-live

3. Support and Optimize


All our projects start with the assessment step and are led by our most senior consultants. We tend to be industry-agnostic, but to the extent that it is feasible, we allocate resources with proven experience in the industry/area of the business/project.

  • Understanding the context and the problem statements, through open workshops, brainstorming, mind-mapping, and whiteboard sessions
  • Evaluate workloads targeted for migration to identify the best course of action for cloud migration
  • Roadmap definition achieved through setting up the list of features, assessing and linking them into a roadmap of the product cloud strategy
  • Evaluate core infrastructure services: network, storage, identify, security


After the Asses step ends, we have a high-level understanding of what and how we can achieve the cloud migration. The next step is called Migration Planning, and it is led by Cloud Architect or Senior Cloud Engineers.

During this step, we work together with the client’s team to build a Cloud Blueprint for the targeted workloads. The techniques used by our team are:

  • Workshops to gain in-depth understanding of targeted application/workloads
  • Breaking the high-level application functions and product features into design components and defining these components.
  • Creating application baselines
  • Code analysis
  • Application performance analysis and benchmarking
  • Creating cloud application change roadmap that identifies key changes that need to be made to enable optimized cloud usage
  • Preparing and exporting design assets for the code team
  • Writing test cases and defining success criteria


This core phase ends with a Cloud Blueprint for all targeted workloads that clearly defines the proposed changes, desired end state, targeted cloud services and migration roadmap. This offers a clear roadmap to achieve a successful cloud migration process.

In terms of deliverables, the Blueprint will include:

  • High-Level technical design
  • Low-Level technical design
  • Infrastructure set-up steps
  • Cloud migration steps and timelines
  • Monitoring and logging config
  • Security config
  • Planning and implementing the backup-plan
  • Planning and implementing a DR-plan
  • Defining the infrastructure maintenance strategy


During this core phase, the actual migration takes places strictly following the Cloud Blueprint for all targeted applications/workloads.


This phase will follow the below steps:

a. Cloud Infrastructure setup:

We deploy and configure your underlying  Azure Cloud infrastructure: Azure Active Directory, Storage Accounts, Cloud Network design, Identity and Access Control, VPN tunnels, Direct Connect tunnels, and so on.

At this stage we also configure Azure security and monitoring services and settings for your future environment.


b. Development

For REDESIGN – REAARCHITECT strategies, our senior Development Team Lead will grab the design components from the Cloud Blueprint and translate them into tasks for the development team.

If not constrained, we will target serverless designs which will achieve the best resource optimization, scalability, high availability and fault containment. 

Our Product Manager will oversee the development progress using Agile task management.

The Senior Architects will make sure the feature-set is implemented correctly in both front-end and back-end components and services.

Internally we are using a 4-stage development pipeline:

  • Development
  • Testing
  • Staging
  • Production.


For LIFT AND SHIT strategies, this step will focus on the actual migration of on-premise servers to Azure.

We actively migrate your workloads, aiming for the smallest window of downtime or zero downtime migration (if possible).

We will also provide pre and post-migration testing and reports.


 c. Testing

In this step, the beta version of our targeted application cloud REDESIGN – REARCHITECTURE is shared with the client. We will load the app with a sample data set that will replicate real-world use cases. Any external dependency will run in read-only / sandbox mode, so we won’t impact external systems.

The results of the test will conclude the successful implementation of our goals, or it will reveal issues and bugs. We use this point to capture enhancements and new features and add them to the roadmap.

If issues and bugs are found, they will be addressed by our teams and a new beta version will be developed.

This cycle will go on until we eliminate all the critical bugs and issues. Only then we can proceed to the next step.

In summary, this phase will include:

  • Client Testing Sessions
  • Bug fixing
  • Release to Production Environment
  • New additions to the roadmap, subject to change requests


d. Go-live

At this point, the cloud environment is fully operational, tested and ready for launch. We work closely with our client in order to set the date and to prepare the go-live event.

If the app replaces an older version or it has dependencies on existing systems, we will coordinate closely with the proper teams from the client-side to create a clear action plan that everybody can follow.

We will help you properly integrate Azure services and workloads with your current on-premise infrastructure and servers.

At this stage, we also release the procedures to manage and maintain your Azure infrastructure


Our Cloud Support services can fall under two categories:1. Full ownership of the solution that includes both proactive and reactive operations as described below:

2. On-demand reactive support model. Under this approach, the ITPrepared team is engaged by the customer team, on-demand, to:

a. troubleshoot and fix the solution after an incident

b. assist the customer team in operational/administrative activities.
